Process node ("2nm", "3nm")
The name of a chipmaking generation. Despite the name, it is no longer the size of any one part.
Chipmakers name each manufacturing generation with a number of nanometers, such as 3nm or 2nm. Once those numbers measured real features on the chip; today they are generation names, and the actual features differ by company. Smaller numbers still mean newer, denser chips.
